Once I had my lathe setup I quickly jumped in the deep end with a piece of oregon. This short length of wood was probably an old oregon table leg or similar. I turned it down, not quite removing all the paint and then followed a Mike Waldt video tutorial on YouTube to make my first functional wood turning project. I’m very happy with how it turned out.
